Hello again
thanks to everyone who advised about my kitty. She still wont go out and doesn't seem interested, so I've decided to keep her tray out and wait until it's warmer. I don't want to stress her about it.
Just wanted to check if anyone else's cat snores and breathes really loudly? She can sometimes sound like she has a bad cold. She's a persian cross and 8yrs old. She's not off her food and has always been like this, just curious to hear other folks experiences before going to a vet next week...
thanks

Hi
I have had cats that could rattle doors with their snoring! With your furbabe it may be due to her being part persian as they have snub noses. It might be worth a quick visit to the vet to put your mind at rest thoughFind out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
we have 2 persians and both snore loudly! One also growls louder than my dog everytime the window cleaner comesVirgin CC=£2652, Next= [STRIKE]£102.88,[/STRIKE] Very=£475.60, Natwest=£800, Sainsburys CC=£1777.02, Lloyds CC=£498.29, Lloyds Loan= £13,946.18, Car=£4000Total = [STRIKE]£26,147.23[/STRIKE] £23,849.09:eek:0

Our little tabby (5mnths) makes loads of funny squeaking, snoring, heavy breathing noises. He likes to go under the settee and has even poked a hole through the lining so he can sit right inside the base, we generally know he's in there cos we can hear him making his funny noises, lol.0

One of mine snores all the time and makes all sorts of snorty noises while he's just sitting too. The 'dip' at the top of his nose, in between his eyes goes too far in which restricts his breathing and his tears a bit. It doesn't seem to bother him and he was thoroughly checked by a vet when he was a kitten. He put dye though to check the flow of his tears etc. The vet said it wouldn't do him any harm and he's fine - its just noisy sometimes when you're trying to watch TV, particularly when he's dreaming. Ha ha.0

Thanks everyoneyes, I think persian crosses are particularly 'snorty' . She was a rescue kitten from a charity and the result of a breeder's garden being 'infiltrated' by a feral tom!
She's so noisey and makes all kinds of snuffly-growling-grunty noises esp' when sleeping LOL. She's a fab ginger colour and looks like a cross between a fox and a squirrel... gorgeous0 -
Mine snores so loudly you have to prod her back awake sometimes to hear the telly (and she's the daintest most ladylike creature as well). I figure - she's always always snored so it's nothing sinister, vet's given her a full bill of clean health, so it's obviously just part of what she is - I'd worry if it was new snoring or got worse.
Pity me - there are nights when my husband's snoring away, the cat's snoring away and has hogged half the bed and I'm lying on the edge of the bed with no duvet, wide awake and wishing they'd both give it a rest!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

Could husband not sleep on the sofa, that would leave more room for the cat. :rotfl:A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Got a four year old tom sat next to me doing a very good impression of a chainsaw at the moment - he rivals me in the snoring stakes :-)0

My cat sounds like something between Darth Vader and a pneumatic drill; he can't do anything quietly, bless him. Even bog-standard purring sounds like a distant thunder storm. And boy does he snore. Sometimes I hear him from upstairs (he sleeps in the kitchen with the door shut...) Typical noisy male really.
I took him to the vet when I first got him as I thought he must be unwell - but apparently not. I guess some cats are just noisier than others!0 -

Cat's really make me laugh with their funny habits. What got into his head to do that eh?!!0
