My colleague whom I referred to as the vlb in my last post has raised a grievance against me with my boss. She has alleged that I have been trying to claim commission payments by putting in bogus claims. There is a lead commission scheme for office staff which can pay up to £75 for a lead (just capturing call data) which leads to a good sale. Now I have been doing quite well out of this little earner by simply answering the phone and passing on the callers details to a salesman. Simples or so I thought. She has been analysing the data of my lead claims with the help of a more experienced and capable colleague who she has allied to whilst I have been off on the sick. Now the vlb has falsely highlighted a lead which led to a sale quickly after I took the call. Little was I to know that the salesman had already took a call from this customer and the sale happened on the exact day I took the phone call. Now the vlb knew this as she has now took over my duties and places orders. She jumps to conclusions and before long 2 + 2 makes 5.
I am called into have a little chat with the boss after vlb and said colleague have called him into the office specially to raise concerns about my conduct. Well I blew my top and denied any wrongdoing. I demanded that I have someone of my choosing in the meeting on my side not the colleague who accompanied the vlb. She had also raised a concern about me interfering in her work and that I was to butt out of her way lest I go off work with stress again piling more work onto her and colleagues plate. Well my boss wants me to concentrate on a small part of our departments work. This makes me feel demeaned but que sera. Anyway the day after I sent out an email apologising for my conduct to calm the waters. I feel that I have claimed a small victory and so has the vlb so its a stalemate atm. I have started looking for another job by improving my CV. I've been turned down for one job but I am more determined to find a better job now.0 -
Update: I have applied for several jobs now and have been for an assessment this morning which I passed with flying colours. I now have an interview on Friday morning. I am confident of being successful as I have worked for this company before. They seem to have improved their benefits in the seven years I have left them. I feel they are a progressive company unlike my present employer. I am posting this to give folks who are feeling hopeless that there is light at the end of the tunnel and for every poor employer there is a good employer which recognises that if you treat staff well they are more likely to perform better.0

Good luck with the interview. Let us know how you get on.0 -

I didn't get the job I went for an interview for above. In fact it was a complete disaster. I admitted in the interview that I didn't want to work for a call centre and was only there to get out of my current job. Anyway I felt like a complete idiot although I realise they had combined the Customer Service and Sales departments. What is the future of Customer Service if they can combine Sales and Customer Service into one role?
I have since been offered a job as a Customer Service Co-ordinator in a small office closer to home. I am hoping this will be better than my last role. I know that I made some enemies there judging from some comments on facebook people were glad to see the back of me.0
