Trains at Christmas
Options
I'm looking to travel by train on Boxing day, having never done this before I dont even know if it is possible! The train companies websites and National Rail don't seem to be very forthcoming as far as what is happening on the rail network over the festive period!
Hoping to travel from Colchester (one railway) to Amersham (Chiltern Railways/London Underground). Any ideas?

Hi,
Generally, there is a very very limited service, airport services and other vital routes - I know last year the trains only ran as far as Rickmansworth on the Met line and Chiltern Railways had a completely suspended service. It usually gets published on the nationalrail website, but its probably a bit early yet.0 -
Usually they run a sunday service on boxing day.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

although all the companies are on the web, i found it cheaper to call GNER direct to organise my in-laws travel over Xmas. Sunday service only means the prices are extortionate in comparison to Xmas Eve!!0
