Best of Luck debtmess, I hope you get it sorted, it may be the other you haven't heard from is just away.
I had this happen to me a few years ago, wrong item sent and fully understand how it can happen, lots listed and lots to post.
My seller asked us to swap items at our expense, giving both of us the others details:eek:
We knew each other very well luckily, (although seller didn't know that) both collect in the same field but I did put my foot down and refuse to pay for the seller's mistake. She was amazed I didn't want to help her out at my cost and I was amazed she expected me to.
It will cost you to pay for return of items and to repost, just make it clear you're happy to pay for your c*ck up. Hope it goes well.0 -
I received some hair straigteners instead of a pair of shoes recently! Seller, like you was really upset, but I posted them back to her and the swap happened within a week, no harm done, I was more bothered the other person liked my shoes and might keep them!!!0

I had a small PC business at one point and the guy working for me sent an ebay customer two laptops instead of one!!
Luckily the woman emailed us to say and we paid for the postage back!0 -
Not to do with ebay but I sent 2 customers orders to each other. Contacted both, gave them the other addresses and they sent them to each other and I refunded postage. Worked out well in the end.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

It happened to me too. Sold a DS and a DSi and didn't realise the chargers would be different. Asked them both to send the chargers to each other, refunded them the cost of postage and then sent both sets of buyers some sweets as the consoles were for kids! Got positives from both sets. They realised it was a genuine mistake and were both kind enough to help.
Hope you sort it out.0 -
Did that myself with some postcards back in 2006. It's fairly common
. The buyers were fairly happy to communicate but I think I ended up having them both send the cards back to me and then re-sending myself. "Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I had this happen, amazingly they both lived on the edge on London and with me as a middle man they met up and swapped. It's an easy mistake to make.0

goodness I didn't realise how many others had made this mistake. I did the same recently and contacted each buyer for permission to give the other buyer their address so they could swap. I was lucky enough to get 2 wonderful buyers and because the items weren't too expensive I gave them both full refunds for the item and both lots of postage.
They both left positives

I once received 2 things from a seller on the same day. One was my order and one was someone elses. I contacted him to let him know and he apologised, sent me the other buyers address so I could post it, paid me the postage for doing so and ALSO refunded my order and sent me 2 free DVDs as a thank you lol.•
