need help on NCB before they cancel my account! (car)

hi i need as much help as possible before i phone my insurance in the morning..
Basically i was with direct line as a named driver on my aunty's policy and they clearly stated to me aswell as my aunt (and on their web site) that I will get ncb aswell as my aunt, however, after being with them for nearly 2 yrs (ncb should be 1yr)) i went with another company told them i had 1yr ncb etc etc explained that i was having problems with d,line and gave them all the details, it has been nearly 3 months and they have just got in touch with a 7 day cancellation notice, i then spoke to them and said ''i Didnt have and ncb and that they got that info from d, line themselves so they said ragrdless they are stopping my insurance! im furious as i need my car for my baby older child for school but most of all for my disabled hubby who can barely walk yet they dont want to help i even offered to pay extra for the time being, as i paid a yr in advance!!! but they told me they would have to a brand new claim! yet nothing about my money i feel like screaming down the phone as i feel soo frustrated angry and upset. i paid just under £1000 for the yr as im only 26 and been driving for 2 1/2 yrs now and coz of these problems it sewems as tho im never going to be able to get any ncb and insurance is always going to be through the roof!!!
plz could some 1 help me in anyway possible im a very desperate woman right now and any little thing will help me..

Thanks to all in advance...

  • It's always been the case that named drivers do not earn no claims bonus.

Direct Line gives named drivers a bonus, on the premise that you stay with Direct Line. It is non transferable and not 'real' NCB.

It states this every time a commercial comes on TV, and on their website.

    In fact.

'for when they take out a Direct Line policy'.

Try and get them to reinstate your policy (do some grovelling if necessary).

Otherwise you are going to be left with a cancelled policy on your record which you will have to declare when trying to get a new insurer elsewhere. This will be difficult, as most mainstream insurers will not even quote anyone with a cancelled policy.
