Yesterday, I recieved a parking notice from Parking Eye stating I had overstayed the allowed parking time for B&Q in Wandsworth.
The parking notice was forwarded on to me from my car leasing company saying, the car leasing company cover letter said that their new procedure was to NOT pay on behalf of customer, then reclaim it through a direct debit, but rather to pass it straight on to me for actioning.
My intention is to totally ignore this, however I am concerned that the leasing company will contiunue to get letters chasing payment and threatening legal action and they might go ahead and pay the amount then try to reclaim it from me.
Should I make contact with legal eye and say to correspond with me directly on the matter - THEN proceed to ignore OR should I advise the leasing car leasing company to ignore (which I am slightly less comfortable about as they may give in and pay.
thanks - there is some great advice on here and I have no intention of giving my hard earned to these dicks.

Hi you have posted on to a thread were you may not get much response. Always better to start your own! However the normal advise is to completely ignore. If you are worried about the lease company I would give them half a dozen stamped addressed envelopes and my strict instructions to forward any further letters and that they should not pay them.0

            Hi niffud72,
 Welcome to MSE
I've split your thread out of the "What to Expect" thread. Do make sure the lease company understands that they are not to pay it under any circumstances.
I had seen an article or letter aimed at fleet managers which explains the PPC scam quite well and which the OP could pass onto the lease firm - anyone have a link?0

            There you go
http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/2009/5/28/question-private-parking-fines-fleets-urged/30698/Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0

I would write to the leasing company saying you are pleased to see they are not being taken in by the scam that is the private parking industry. Enclose a printout of the Fleet News link provided by Taffy above, for their information as well.
Finish by saying that they can bin any letters as you will be ignoring the scam and that as the driver you take full responsibility for handling this irritation, which of course is not a real parking offence. Say that because it's not a real parking fine (from Police or Local Authority) the leasing co have NO authority to end up paying the company then charging you, and that this letter makes that expressly clear so no payment or admin fee must be taken from your account in connection with this matter, under any circumstances.
Then maybe end by saying you have posted on MSE parking tickets forums that they are one of the few car leasing companies to have so far changed their policy on these scam tickets - so they have got themselves some great publicity for being so sensible!
Who is the leasing firm, so we can all know which company to consider when hiring a car in future please? They really do need a pat on the back! PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland). PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Its a shame that such good advice wasn't available when I ignored what my then transport manager and the company secretary told me to do (i.e. pay up). Instead I invited the PPC to issue proceedings which they did - perhaps because they felt the company would fold - and I won because the PPC were unable to prove who the driver was and didn't seem to have ever been in court before. Sadly, none has taken me on since. :cool:My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
