I'm worried about the gas/elec more than anything.
VAT on gas and electric remains at 5%.Murphy was an optimist!!!0 -

For me personally, I think it will be fuel. Labour increased fuel duty to combat the fall in VAT when it fell to 15%, so we never actually noticed a fall in the pump price, however, today, diesel cost me £1.22.9 per litre.
The VAT rise will push that price up to around £1.25 per litre. With further rises in the pipeline, we could be seeing prices hit an all time high (believe petrols all time high was just under £1.22).
What about you? Where do you think you'll notice it? Weekly shop? Communications bills? Fuel etc?
I pay for items in kind. Alternate economy down here.0 -

To be honest I probably won't notice all that much.0 -
Many small item goods didnt benefit from the reduction in vat from 17.5% to 15%,hardly worth reducing the price of a mars bar by 00.3p,but this will be used as an excuse to increase said mars bar by 1p maybe even 2p.thats why inflation will rise way above the real impact of a 2.5% vat increase.0
