Where will the VAT rise be noticed most?

Just wondering where you will notice the VAT rise the most?
For me personally, I think it will be fuel. Labour increased fuel duty to combat the fall in VAT when it fell to 15%, so we never actually noticed a fall in the pump price, however, today, diesel cost me £1.22.9 per litre.
The VAT rise will push that price up to around £1.25 per litre. With further rises in the pipeline, we could be seeing prices hit an all time high (believe petrols all time high was just under £1.22).
What about you? Where do you think you'll notice it? Weekly shop? Communications bills? Fuel etc?

I agree that fuel will be the most obvious place we'll see it. And petrol was at least £1.35/l down here in sunny Kent last time and it is creeping towards that sort of level again. Makes me want to cry when I fill up the X5

In the pocket.
Next year there's a 1% NIC rise as well as more fuel duty increases.
Let alone rises in electricity and gas.
So will just mean an adjustment in spending habit to compensate.0 -
Fuel. We have 2 cars 1.9 deisel and a 3.2 petrol. 3 tanks a month between us and it will have an impactMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Petrol. 2 car household, using ~ 70L a week (mostly commuting). Already spending ~£80 a week, will go up by another ~£4. Literally the only thing we spend more on is rent.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...0

Everyone will notice the increase in prices, regardless of whether the item in question is subject to vat or not.0

Petrol. Last full tank cost £75, next full tank in Jan will be another £1.80, so will need to earn £2.90 to pay for it, so it's really a 3.8% rise not 2.5%.0
