 Post Office savers with over £50,000 of savings will still receive an additional guarantee under the Irish scheme until the end of the year.

 Think you'll only get the £89k protection if you had an account with them before 1st November. If you joined since them you'll just have the 50k protection. Guess this is to make sure no one is in a worse position. Bit academic really with the increased protection for everyone from the 1st Jan.0

 Pretty sure everyone gets it, just inconvienient if Ireland goes tits up and we all have to wait months for our savings back?0
