Asda came up trumps with the bargains!

Evening everyone how are you all doing? :j Hope you've all had a great day.....:D Ooh you'll never guess what (in best Hilda Ogden voice) - I've just got to share this with you all......
I just popped into my local Asda on way home and have managed to get enough food from the bargain bin to make two weeks of meals and lunches for a grand total of 4.17!!!!!!!!!!
Been cooking since I got home to get it all into the freezer....
One of those 14" inch cartwheel pizzas instead of 2.98 - 86p!
Char Sui Pork ready meal/deli 2.27 - 42p.
2.5 bag of maris piper spuds 32p with nary a blemish.
3 chicken tikka breasts each the size of a small shoe - £1 for the lot.
And this is only a small fraction of it...............

Has anyone else has any other super-duper deals like this lately- just wondering as I love to hear about what all you brilliant MSE'rs have managed to get as well....

Now off to eat a pizza the size of a small nation xx :T :A

  • I came out pretty well (not quite as good, but being veggie limits the options) at the reduced section the other day too.

4lb of new potatoes for 30p
    6 bananas .. still green! .. 35p
2 packs of cauldron veg sausages .. 50p each
    4 red peppers .. 30p
    GFY hummous .. 35p

Resisted the pizza and choccy desserts as i'm meant to be dieting ;)

Our asda also regularly have loads of deli cheese reduced.. i don't take advantage as i hate 99% of cheese but someone must get some good deals!

That sounds brilliant! What time did you go to Asda?
  • Went into my local asda yesterday and they had loads of their packs of 5 fresh chicken breasts reduced fro £5 to £1.10 per pack, bought 4 packs. Used two of the breasts for Thai Green Curry and Noodles, roasted 2 both with a slice of home cured bacon on top - one for sandwiches for hubbies lunch tomorrow and one to chop up in a salad for my lunch. Froze the rest as individual breasts. Also got packs of smart price crumpets, 10p per pack, bought 5 packs and froze them.

The other day I got loads of loaves (think 15+!) for 4p each,
    4x mini pittas - 4p
    2x crumpets - 4p
    1x pikelets- 4p
    cabbages - 5p + 8p

Three of the loaves (i think they were kingsmill) were made into french toast and frozen (quick and easy snack!) and the rest were all just frozen.
Cabbages went with some meat and potatoes for dinner.

I once got huggies sensitive wipes refills pack (144wipes) x 2 for 88p

My asda is great. I was speaking to one of the girls who works in the bakery (when she was helping me to carry my megaload of baked goods to the checkout!) and she said that they finished at 10 so they reduced all the bakery stuff to the lowest price between 9 and 10.

I dont understand why everyone doesnt shop at Asda.

Their range of self brands is incredible. Anything you want, theyll make it, and at a much cheaper price.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"

Asda Llansamlet tends to reduce fresh things between 5 and 5.30 in the evening - they're reducing things just as I get there after work. Tuesday is usually a good day as less people do a large shop on a Tuesday.

Even if the supermarkets have to reduce items to 1p, they have to get rid of them otherwise the full price shows on their waste budget.

Nobody can compete with Sainsbury's reduced items if you know what to pick up!!!
One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.
