Getting married in Australia, need advice on the best way to pay!!

Hi Guys

Really need some good advice, my partner and i are getting married in Australia in a little while, everything has been booked and deposits paid.

We need to start paying for the big things like the reception, entertainment etc shortly and are wondering the best way to do this, and to get the best exchange rate.

Are options at the moment are to pay by debit card, or transfer cash into her (Australian) sisters account then get her to pay on her card.

Any advice/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Paul

  • Check what the places want, I've found a number of companies & individuals here in Australia don't take cards, or if they do charge a percentage on top for card fees. Bank transfers are quite usual here and generally take place overnight

Thanks for the advice, obviously i'm now thinking about bank exchange rates, and whether Barclays or Natwest would give me a better exchange/fee.
