Hi

I have £245 in tesco vouchers which will double up at the moment to £490 if i spend them on computers, my daughter is 13 and wants a laptop or Christmas and I was sondering if someone had the time to see which is the best laptop that i can get for my money. I dont mind putting a bit extra to it but would prefer not to spend the whole if i dont have to.

Thanks

right moomin i would buy the following at £399 http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-2851.aspx in purple but there other colours if she would prefer also the t4500 is 2.3 ghz dual core with 3ghz of ram and 320gb hard drive should keep her busy for a few years to come.

other wise same machine with larger 500gb hardrive and 4gb of ram for £449 http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-2401.aspx which will still leave you some vouchers over.

Avoid the levano with larger drive and 4ghz ram http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.208-8799.aspx as only has a 32bit os on it and will not allow the full amount of ram on it to fully work so would there for need to buy a new 64bit os for it to work properely about £100 to add on top.

    hope that helps

i would say the first Dell one at £399 is more than good enough for a 13 yo who is probably only going to use it for facebook, youtube and msn

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

on a laptop for a teenager doubtful, the laptop has a built in webcam so she wont need to plug in an extra one, so other than that she will only probably want to plug in a ipod to charge and sync it via USB

(and i am going on my 13 yo step daughter with 'our' laptop - she doesnt have her own but uses the family one quite often)

Don't worry about the number of USB ports on the back of the lap-top. If you need extra USB ports, just get a USB hub. You can pick one up for around £5 from PCWorld and it will give you an extra 4 ports.

With regards the lap-top make, I would go for a DELL.
