Rude British Gas

Options
Am i the only one who is feed up with the main supplier aggressiveness? I’m talking from my experience of British gas, Thames water and BT. Finally had enough of British gas and moved gas and electric to Ecotricity. I didn’t even bother to compare the rates, I just couldn’t stand the bad customer service from British gas. So I moved (recommended by a friend). What a breath of fresh air they are so polite. The best bit is I am actually on a cheaper rate. So you don’t have to be arrogant and rude to provide a cheap price.

I tried to see the tariff for my address but it didn't like my postcode and delivered zero pounds across the board. Trying some other postcodes it seems that they simply match the standard tariff of what they call the local supplier, and I now see that that's what they say they do. Not impressed with those rates then but I suppose if you were after green electricity it would be a good deal. Unfortunately I don't have the finances to have the luxury of following my heart. I'm certainly not impressed that it couldn't cope with my WC1X postcode. If you work for them maybe you could get them to fix it but I've also emailed them.

Their prices would appear to be the same as the standard energy prices for the local incumbent suppliers, so around 30% more than the cheapest internet tariffs.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

I never had anything other than good service whilst I was with BG. Never experienced them being rude or agressive.
  • I have issues at the present time with BG but must say the various service engineers that have checked over our boiler each year for going on 11 years now, have been very good and would say good all rounders on all counts. Dianne

If you provided British Gas with a phone number when you where with them, you will find out sales are rude and arrogant as well as you'll get cold sales phone calls. I'd suggest asking to opt out when they ring.

I'm fairly certain the agent you dealt with didnt account for the other 27,000 employees of British Gas dealing with customers day in day out.
  • for once it is nice to see people like the service they get. I do work for BG and as I always say it is easy to complain but its nice to hear a job well done. I myself do try hard to please so I find it nice to hear good reviews for a change.
