Refund for Item Returned - Help

I returned an item to a seller who had a no quibble returns policy. I contacted them first via email and advised them that I was returning the item and then returned it recorded delivery. The item was signed for the day after.

I have emailed the seller again asking them to credit my paypal account but still have not had a response.

I have emailed them again tonight to say that if they dont respond I will take the issue up with eBay but that I would rather resolve it amicably.

Thing is - I dont really know how to raise a dispute or take it up with eBay - the only thing I can see how to do is to report an item as either not received or not as described.

Can anyone help please? I paid via Paypal.

Thanks

If necessary, it should be paypal you open a dispute with, not ebay. I think there's a dispute page.

I'd imagine it would be an item not received dispute,as you have no goods and no money.

did you pay with paypal, if yes raise the dispute now, they could have drawn the money out of paypal and if they have no intention of using paypal again you might not get anything back, although if it was funded by credit card via paypal you can ask your credit card company for help.

do they have decent feedback, are they currently selling anything else?

  • Yes I paid by paypal. Seller is still selling stuff and has OK feedback. The only dispute I can see is 'item not received' so I will try raising one of those and see what happens.

How long do I have to leave feedback? I havent left it yet so I can leave a negative if seller doesnt sort it out.

You have approximately 90 days to leave feedback. There's no rush, so I'd advise waiting until you have your refund before leaving it.

  • The seller still hasnt responded. I raised a dispute and have emailed him several times and also tried to telephone (got the contact details from eBay)

What do I do now? The only thing I can see is to 'escalate the response' is this the same as a paypal chargeback that i read about?

Your help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks

Just keep going with the dispute - if he doesnt respond then it should close in your favour and you should get your money back. If the seller just wants to ignore the dispute then thats their problem!
