Ppi

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me out there ?? Having requested my loan papers with Direct Line they sent me a statement of history in which detailed my PPI Insurances as approx £1759.00 .. having sent a request to RBS that they pay me back I was offererd £1053.00 ... I questioned this to RBS as this was not the amount above... but got a letter back from RBS saying that Direct Line had made a mistake with their paperwork and this was infact the Interest. I was relying on the full amount back and just wonder now where I stand ... they have sent me a copy of the agreement and it looks like RBS are right

Hi there, is this loan still running, or did you settle early?

Sounds like they are reducing the loan (which is common and normal for loans that are running). i.e. they have taken the PPI off the loan and refunded an amount of interest to match if it had never been there in the first place.

However, its not really clear from your post if you are getting the interest or its an adjustment in the loan or even if the loan is still running. Can you clarify please?

  • Hi

The loan has finished and has been paid off .. but I did not pay it off early ...

RBS state that the PPI was for £800.00 approx .. but have offered £1053.00 ...where as Direct Lines papers said that the PPI was infact £1759.00 ...

The agreement does state £800.00 aprox as PPI but clearly Direct Line have made an error

I have since received a letter saying that the offer was for 14 days only and that has now expired ...

If the ppi was £800 as on the agreement that rbs have sent you, then there offer is right. If you have papers from direct line that say different to rbs then i would telephone fos with this, had the figure been correct in the first place you would have accepted the offer and because you have conflicting paperwork the 14 days they gave you to accept this offer has expired.
