Late Benefit Payment

Hi I just thought I would post a question and ask if anyone has received any of their benefits late this week?

I have for two years now been paid my IB fortnightly on a wednesday - I found today it was not in - rang DWP and they told me Im not supposed to get it until thursday and its just my bank letting me have it early????

Strange when I checked with the bank this is not something they do.....

I called DWP back to check again (unfortunately got same advisor!) who was not happy to help and in the background another advisor was telling someone no its not us it takes five working days - we have sent your payment on time etc etc (now this could have just been coincidence!)

So was wondering if anyone else has had a problem this week - have the government had a hiccup and dont want to tell us????

Check your award letter - this will tell you what day the payment is due.

if you know what your award period is you'll find you are due money on the last day of that award.
So for example if you are paid 2 weekly for the period 1/11 to 14/11 then 15/11 to 29/11 you should get your money on the `14/11 and then again on 29/11

only any good if you know what your award periods are though!

It seems they have renewed my claim (unbeknown to me????) and this payment date change is caused by this (computer hiccup when renewal takes place) - Im awaiting further details from DWP but incase it helps anyone else will report back once i find out - it is all a little odd really
