How do you store winter veg?
Comments
-
To get over the storage problem I grow winter hardy veg that can be left in the ground all winter, i.e. Curly Kale, Swiss Chard, Leeks and Parsnips. I also grow celeriac and beetroot - these I leave in the ground and just heap the earth up over the bulbs to protect them from the frost and dig them up singly as I need them.
If you haven't got a cool garage, store your potatoes in a hessian sack or thick potato sack away from the light in the coolest part of the house you can find.
Pumpkins can be stored in daylight, but again in a cool frost free place.0
