Paypal won't take credit card for particuar item?

Bizzarre one this. Bought 2 separate BIN items on Sunday, one was 99p, the other £1.40. Clicked pay now after the second one and the pay all sellers at once bit was ticked. Went through, and I thought that was that.

Bought another cheap item yesterday, went to pay and I noticed the 99p item from Sunday was showing as unpaid. Checked and it appears I only paid the £1.40 item. Tried to pay for the old item and Paypal said I need another payment method? However, it let me pay for the NEW item (around £1.50)!!

Basically, paypal won't let me pay by card for this particular item...but no explanation given?? Any ideas...I don't want a NPB over 99p...plus I do need the item!

could be a reason if you had bought anything else off them ??? contact seller they will probs give you the reason

OP does the seller accept another payment method?
Paypal may want you to use a bank transfer, but it takes several days to set up.

That's all I can think of, but someone else may come along and know more about it.

Terra- yes, it's one item per ebayer, so Opal thought that could be the issue. However I've definitely not dealt with them before.

The message I'm getting when I rey to pay is that I must use an alternative funding method. But I was able to purchase a different 99p item since!!

Seller knows of no issues. Have asked for their paypal email address and I'll try direct through paypal.

Sellers cannot instruct paypal to refuse payments for more than one item, their statement on the listing is useless and unenforceable, you can buy as much as you want and they would have to sell to you.

I don't know why they are restricting just one item, it's never happened to me.
Do you only deal with pounds or do you have balances in other currencies? That's the only time I've had one specific transaction blocked, although it doesn't sound this is the same issue.

PP works in mysterious ways... so I'm sure there is a perfectly logic (at least to them...) explanation to this.
