Technika tv Problem

Hi my Technika tv that i bought last christmas has lost the sound, i have tried everything, muting it, turning it up, other things, going through the menu etc etc. I can hear it VERY slightly when its turned up to the max. I took it to a tv shop he said he would have to buy in the parts but their hard to get. But i dont think it needs parts as the sound does work VERY VERY quietly. Is their anything you can suggest if i take it appart or something. Thanks for your help!

If you bought it last Christmas, it should still be under warranty for the first 12 months.

I got it from tesco, my mrs lost the receipt  and i paid with cash, so now she expects me to deal with it. I have been into tesco and explained they said they couldnt do anything, gave me a leaflet to the tesco techie department and they said they couldnt do anything:(

Unfortunately, you may just have to write it off - it'll be cheaper to buy another.
Does it have an output for audio you can try feeding into an amplifier or speaker system? Might be worth a try, but don't spend any money trying it. If that works, then buying some speakers for it might extend it's life. If not, time for another TV I think.

Thanks for that, i think i will just get rid then. :)
  • Just a thought but did you use a tesco clubcard to get points on the purchase? If you did you can find details of the transaction detailed on the tesco web site. Not itemised but should go some way to convincing them of the date you bought it. Details of how to use the club card site are in this weeks email. I wouldn't give up just yet!

Correct, you don't need a receipt-you just need proof of purchase.
Technika is just a cheapo Tesco own brand and the TV's can come from almost anywhere as a job lot-never any guarantee of getting spares for them. A false economy unless you accept that it may only last a year or so.

I will just have top try and save for another. Thanks for all your help though

Just a tip for all those people who lose receipts, if you have a scanner, then scan the receipt, and keep the picture safe in 2 differen places, eg CD and hard drive. If you do not have a scanner and have a digital camera, take a picture of it, use close up/macromode and do the same.

But do it immediately you have bought the item, 2 days later and you have probably lost the receipt.
