Cheap Postage Help Please

Hi
Im really after some advice please. I want to sell a brand new baby bouncer and some baby clothes. My problem is postage costs seem to be really high. I have never sold anything(though did try half hearted a few months ago-couldn't work out postage so left it!). I have only ever used Royal Mail but for this they will be more expensive. I did see on here other companies people have used but am sure. Are they reputable, reliable and cost effective? Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks
Zara

  • Until I find something different thats better/cheaper, I use royal mail up to 4 KG and anything above that I get a price through parcel2go.

To compare prices you still need to have a packed weight to go on. Royal mail is usually the best up to around 2kg as you can send a standard parcel up to 2kg for £4.41 and most couriers start their pricing over £5 (I'm not good with couriers as I don't use them but I'm sure others will advise).

If you are selling small bundles of baby clothes that 2kg is probably enough. However clothes are capped for postage so you can only actually charge £4 so it is probably best to keep th ebundles below 1kg and use 2nd class standard at £2.84.

Never guess postage , a few grammes over weight and you can wipe out your entire profit on the item by having to pay the extra postage costs yourself.
