contents and buildings insurance

For a house worth close to £250,000 how much should I be looking to pay for buildings insurance and whats the easiest way to do it?

Also, is there any point in having contents insurance? I have never claimed and the ............ insurance companies take my money each year. We have a TV and a computer, and a sofa.

Is that all you have? Do you not have DVD, Table, Washer, CD's, Furniture, Clothes, Jewellery, Ornaments, Carpets, etc etc

WHat do you think people will steam/damage when they break into your property. What about if you suffered a house fire and everything was burnt. Or a flood.

Course its worthwhile having contents insurance.

OK. But if we never claim and damage something, we can just pay for it and its a low crime area. I think insurance is a bit of a fiddle really.

You don't take out insurance with the idea that you're going to claim. You take it out for peace of mind in case the unexpected happens.
I do know people who don't insure anything that isn't a legal requirement and yes they save a wad of cash. But if something does happen they'll be ****ed.

You should take out both house and contents insurance and as always avoid any company that use Asprea.
