Parking Charge

Having received a notice back in August for 'incorrectly displaying a ticket' I have up until now ignored it.

I recieved a letter in September saying that the charge was now £127.50 and should be paid in full by October 8th to avoid any further action. Again, I ignored this letter.

Yesterday I received a 'Notice of Intended Legal Action'
Failure to pay will result in court action being taken etc, etc.

I am now a little worried that they will go ahead with this and I will end up having to pay court costs etc if I lose the appeal.

Any advice most welcome. The company is Premier Parking Solutions.

They are always intending to take you to court, needless to say that they have never ever taken someone there, basically they are to scare you to paying, no doubt you will get another letter giving you a discount if you pay, the reason is that their whole industry is collapsing around them ;)

    So IGNORE the scammers !
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Keep ignoring and stop worrying, these sorts of letters mean you are near the end of the scam as they up the ante with legalese and threats.

See typical letter-chains here, are they using a pet debt collector? If so you can find the letters from the usual suspects on this 'Hall of Shame' and you can see that a bogus 'Notice of Intended Legal Action' is usually followed by a 'Final Notice' (big wow!):

'PPC letters & scams, what to expect' thread

And as we don't have example letters scanned in yet from PPS (only because no-one has bothered yet!) could you possibly scan or take pics of your lovely letter collection when all this is over?

If you post links to your letters as a reply on that thread (with all ID info, refs, dates, barcodes & locations removed like in other examples) then Crabman can add them to the first post to help other see what happens next.

You won't get your day in Court so don't go rushing out to buy a new suit! :D
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
