JUst got a very ambiguous message from AVG about AVG jumping from v7.1 to v7.5 shortly and something about payments.

No, I read it that the free version is continuing, v 7.5 soon to be released, but v7.1 will be discontinued in January - basically, anyone with AVG7.1 will be nagged into upgrading to 7.5, but it still remains free:

Quite frankly, I think the finest free antivirus is Avast. Updates automatically on a daily basis. I have used it for about 18 months, entirely trouble-free. http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html Give it a try.0

Phew! I got the same message when I just turned on my computer and also thought that the free one was being discontinued - they word it so you will think that and purchase the professional version from them! Anyway glad I found this thread - will download the new version instead
