previous employers not playing ball

I was away on holiday,came back to find that the firm I worked at had closed down,noone had called me to let me know,phoned my boss who offered his apologies etc etc,found out they have started a new company in a slightly different field of work,went there to get my redundancy letter and p45,couldnt get them as the boss wasnt there,have left messages,phoned them,and have now written to them asking for the money that is owed to me,had nothing back yet.
They have done pretty much the same thing to 5 other people who they have made redundant over the last three monthe,I was laid off/made redundant a month ago so still have two months left to take them to a tribunal,am seeing Citizens Advice this week to decide next move....even though they have started a new company,they have not officially wound up the old company,which is strange.........if anyone knows why this is please e mail back,also any advice generally about this would be great!!!
