    used to be 20, now i think it's 50.

Parkers do a list of what cars are in what group although remember that it is a guide only and individual insurance company might pitch their premium depending on their own claims experience of a particular car

Theres a search by group function on it or a search by car.
  • Try the Thatcham website I would link to the page directly but as a new user I can't.

They host the list on behalf on the ABI

A group 1 car is not always cheaper to insure than a higher group.

When they changed to the 20 group system i had a rover 827, Group 16-18 Depending on company.
My insurance was cheaper than a group 13, Escort XR3. Engine nearly half the size and £300 dearer to insure.

XR3 was more likely to be involved in an accident or stolen was the answer.
