My understanding is that they are only allowed to charge one lot of fees in total when chasing CT, not one lot of fees for each case.
Please find out where your local councillor has his next surgery and arrange to meet him.
In the meantime e-mail the councillor and tell him that the bailiff appointed by his council are charging illegal fees and list what you were sent above. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

you are correct in the sense that if more than one liability order is passed to the bailiffs company at the same time they can only charge one set of fees
This being confirmed in case of
Detailed Assessment Judgement of Throssell v Leeds City Council where the District Judge ruled as follows:
“Turning to the taxation it seems to me that notwithstanding the fact that there were three liability orders but one visit was made by one bailiff and the maximum that the Council’s reasonable charges can be is the result of applying the formula contained in Schedule 5 paragraph 2 (1) (b) of the Regulations”
they cannot charge so many fees if only one visit is madeI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

Thank you very much for all this information, it all goes over my head for the most part to be honest.
They confuse you as to what they're charging and for what, but hopefully they will reply to the email I sent tomorrow with a breakdown of what and why.
In regards to contacting my local councillor, where this council debt was made was further down south than where we live now, so would I need to contact the local councillor down there or one near me now?
Thanks for everyone's help again. X
Going to sleep now, the only time I can forget about all of this. ZzzZZzz0 -
Well nothing today so far.
Another thing, my OH does have a car and parks it a little way down the street, is this far enough away from the house? If not how far is far enough?0 -
park it a few streets away until you find out how many liability orders the council have against you
phone the council and ask how many liability orders the council have
the date of all liability orders
the period they are for (if you move out of a property during a council tax year and council tax are not informed you are charged for the remainder of the council tax year)
the amount of each liability order
the date each was sent to the bailiff companyI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites
