Royal Opera House Ticket Booking

My wife is a pretty keen Theatre enthusiast. I'm thinking of taking her to the Royal Opera house in London for a show. I was thinking of Hansel and Gretel as its coming up to Christmas (keeping festive and all!!)
Is it a good choice?! Or should I be looking at composers: Mozart, Bizet or Puccini. (I have seen these names on CD sleeves)
I was going for the element of suprise, hence the questions here :P
Does anyone know where I should try and book?! I'm a bit of a novice at the theatre.
Any help would be a huge favour

Does she like opera? It's quite a different experience to theatre, after all... there's a good choice of theatre in London too.
I'm not familiar with Hansel & Gretel, but I see that it's a 19th century German opera. Not one of the great operatic classics but as you say a nice festive idea and any production at the ROH is likely to be high quality.
I can't see any Mozart, Puccini or Bizet coming up on their programme at the moment - their production of Bizet's Carmen earlier this year was in high demand.
I think you can only buy tickets to the ROH from their site. Bear in mind that good seats are EXPENSIVE, although you can get some way up high for a pretty low price.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
Thanks,
I've booked some! I took your advice and had a good chat over the phone.
all is well! 0
