Renting = credit checks...

Hi All,

First post so here goes,The story is, i went to look at an Apartment today through a letting agents which i liked,have viewed a few so got a good idea this is the right one for us (with the Girlfriend)!!

So have payed a depsit and have filled in the paper work to do all the credit checks and ref that they require,

BUT i have had credit problems in the past(2-3 yrs) ago i.e late payments on credit cards but they have all been payed up in the last year bar one which i am currently still paying off on time every month.i would just like some advise on what these credit checks invole??? i dont think i have any CCJ against me,how do i know if i have.. i will be upfront with the letting agents as i dont want to fail there checks... DO YOU THINK THEY WILL ACCEPT ME!!!

    landlords and agents dont like suprises when they get the credit check information back - i would suggest that you be up front - tell them about it all, we all make mistakes, and surely the fact that you are sorting it out is more important. good luck
