Depends how often you plan on wearing a dinner suit in the future. Also depends on the likelihood of you staying the same weight/shape.

You may find you wear one more often since it's available and free once you've bought it. I wore mine to the office Christmas party and made the boss look underdressed :-) and also to the opening of a theatre show

Try going to a Marks & Spencer "OUTLET" Store, if there is one near you.

My dear hubby managed to get a very good suit jacket for £18 -- although it's a bit touch and go as to whether you can get a pair of matching suit trousers! ('twas £8 but he couldn't get his size - 42!)

    Hope this helps

Also consider the cost of dry cleaning. I believe M&S do a nice machine washable one.
Proud to be a moneysaver!

    Hired mine from Burtons recently
    Approx £55 with Nhs discount

Then Makro leaflet showed Tux with free shirt and bowtie for same price.

Agree with others try some charity shops 1st.

    Enjoy your night

Got mine from makro for £35 + Vat. Don't exactly wear it a lot but it's a decent suit - made in Italy.

Not ALWAYS a good thing - so was Mussolini.
  • another vote for M&S washable - DH's is one and it is so easy to do - comes with special bag for washing to. May cost a bit more than others and definately more than hiring, but it is yours and you would be able to use again - its not like they are a fashion item so would be wearable for many more parties, black tie events.
  • Or you could borrow one - I did this a few times before taking the plunge and buying one (M&S)
I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!
