Hi all
Need some advice. I have been invited to a "black tie" dinner and need advice on whether to rent or buy a suit. Can anyone recommend a good place to either buy or hire a good quality one.
Thx

I bought an ex-hire suit from my local hire shop for the same price as renting. It wasn't in as new a condition but I've used it 3 times so well worth it.

Try local charity shops, they usually have loads this time of year, ask them and they usually look for you.
Bought one for hubby 2 years ago, came with fancy shirt and dicky bow, matching cumberband and waistcoat, cost £15.00. Just lucky that shop had his size.
Took it straight into local supermarket to be dry cleaned and they were amazed to find a Selfridges label inside.
Dry cleaning of all items cost me £15 still he has worn it 8/9 times so a real bargin. However fancy cufflinks cost me a fortune.
Or try ebay you never know.CUT OFF DATE FOR XMAS 2008 1st NOVPB £17.87, Ipoints 3907, QUIDCO £217.94,SHOP&SCAN 1950, LITESPEED 1265,PINECONE £8,BOOTS £18.62, IPSOS 1190, VALUED OPINIONS £19.25,MISC SURVEYS CLICK THROUGH ACCS ETC £23,0 -

Hired mine from Burtons recently
Approx £55 with Nhs discount
Then Makro leaflet showed Tux with free shirt and bowtie for same price.
Agree with others try some charity shops 1st.
Enjoy your night0 -
In the Xmas Asda brochure they are doing a dinner suit for £39 (I think). The shirt and tie was extra, available from 1st Oct:

Almost every hire shop will sell old stock. You just have to ask them.
Try https://www.yell.co.uk and search for dinner suit hire with your postcode.
But if you want to travel all the way to my local one it's High Society, 23-25 Station Way, Cheam, Surrey, SM3 8SD

All the best,

Depends how often you plan on wearing a dinner suit in the future. Also depends on the likelihood of you staying the same weight/shape.
I wouldn't go for an online shop, you really have to try suits out before wearing them!0 -
It is not an online shop it is a website
