Travel insurance to USA incl volcanic ash cover

Hi everyone

heres hoping somebody can help. I am currently trying to sort a family single trip policy to USA. Were going in about 3 weeks and were hoping to get married when we get there.

its not a package deal, we booked the flights and hotel separate.

ive been looking round all the different insurance websites and now im just confused. I really want cover to include any ash cloud problems, does anybody know any reputable companies that provide this. ive tried to search but cant get any concrete info on it.

You would be best to phone around with full details of the cover you are looking for. As it is not a packaged trip, some Insurers offer an independent travel extension which covers parts of the trip you might miss out on. Also if you have booked anything to do with a wedding, some offer cover for this.

It might be worth lookling at an annual policy, if you will be travelling next year. Might save you money if you have a few trips.

The Post Office policy has won many awards from consumers and favourable comments on this forum. They have varying levels of cover available and I believe they would cover any new volcanic erruption.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

The Post Office definitely won't cover any new volcanic erruption.

One that I know who does is direct travel.

    Thanks.

I stand corrected. As the volcano event has not been declared as being over, the Post Office Insurers won't cover. I thought this had changed, but apparently not according to their website page on this issue.
