How to get dried expanding foam from the carpet?

Hi there experts!
We had some "visitors" overnight eating our food, so after we caught them we sealed every single hole in the walls/cupboards/pipes etc with expanding foam.
But somehow...! we managed to get some on the stairs carpet. It has now solidified (as it should..) but I cannot manage to take it out. I have tried with every single carpet cleaner...
Any ideas pleeeease?

Expanding foam is evil stuff, if you had got it with acetone before it set you might have been in with a chance.
Your main hope is to cut it away using a very sharp stanley knife i.e. cut away the carpet fibres 1 by 1. If this is impossible then hopefully you'll have an off-cut of the carpet somewhere, so you can cut out the stained patch and replace it (a carpet fitter may be able to do a good job).
I have some of this stuff on an aluminium ladder and it has been there for years, really think that the manufacturers should be clearer about how permanent this stuff is.0 -
Nail varnish remover will melt it, (accitone)0

a sharp chisel should get it off. I've been using one to remove dry plaster off the carpet.0
