electric radiator any good

hi, im currently using central heating during the night to keep myself warm. i only require my bedroom to heat up at night.ive recently started to turn the radiators down in all the rooms apart from mine.

will i be better off buying a electric oil filled radiator and will this be economically better? (just to heat up my bedroom at night)

will curtains make alot of difference? (keeping draft out etc)

ive seen a 750 watt radiator at argos.will this be sufficient for a double bedroom?

Expensive to run, maybe an electric blanket would be better or a good quality quilt. I have the heating turned off and sleep in the nude maybe you need to toughen up lol

We ran an oil filled radiator for a while when it was -7 in our utilty room and the dogs slept in it. It ate electricity and we ended up buying the dogs more snuggly beds and knocking it off. Our new house is quite cold already and its not even winter and we don't have central heating so we have doubled our quilt tog rating. Its the warming the freezing mattress with your body thats the worst bit, but it only takes a couple of minutes. Wouldn't dream of having heat on in the room while I was sleeping though. When we were kids our windows used to have frost feathers on the inside so we put lots of clothes on before we went to bed! We're growing into a nation of softies.
