Tall/Vertical Radiator Query

Hi everyone
Im having a new kitchen built, and have decided to get a large vertical radiator installed on a narrow piece of wall next to my kitchen door.
My builder has told me to get a solid one piece vertical radiator as they give out much more heat than the designer ones, but im finding it impossible to get one anywhere ... So its made me think, is it just a case of buying an ordinary radiator and placing it vertically, or is there a solid radiator specifically designed to be hung this way?
Any replies hugely appreciated

An ordinary radiator placed vertically won't work properly and will look very odd.
A radiator works by hot water coming in on the flow side rising by convection to the top and cooling water falling and exiting out the return side. That won’t happen if the radiator is installed vertically. All you would get is a hot section on the side between the valves that would normally be at the bottom. The rest of the radiator would stay mostly cold.0 -
B & Q and Wickes do a slim upright semi-circular rad. called Circo (I think), look good up, I've got 2 of them.0
