ATM refuses to let me withdraw cash from my credit card

I was wondering if anyone could help me?
I know I shouldn't do this and have been warned about the awful rates of interest when withdrawing money from a credit card, but I needed cash and only had my credit card on me, so tried to use it at an ATM and despite knowing I have enough money on my card it refused to let me withdraw any cash and spat my card back out at me...
I was wondering why this is? As I have previously withdrawn £20 from the card a week ago, so I know it does allow me to withdraw cash.. but when I pay with my card I have no problem.

phone your card provider and ask them0 -

Planetary movements could also be involved.
Maybe The Moon is in Uranus?"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
Assuming Uranus is in tip top condition, how close are you to your limit? And how much cash have you taken out in total this month? Most cards have a limit on the amount you can take out.
Or it may be a fraud/suspect activity setting they have. Taking cash out is always a sign of someone a little bit weee, a little bit wooo.0 -
In my past when I was silly and withdrew cash on my credit card, it could be hit and miss.
My Egg card would let me take out £200 everytime I requested it, but my Natwest card would more often than not refuse.
The only way is really to call and also check your agreement.
This is because:
1/ Sometimes you can only withdraw out a certain amount, such as 50% of your limit in cash.
2/ Sometimes you can only withdraw cash from certain machines (such as your own bank group).
3/ It is also possible for a card company to not allow certain customers the facility to withdraw cash.0 -
Has OP used 50% of his limit in cash advances in last 12 months?
If so some cards limit cash advances to this but he could still use the card for purchases.0
