AA renewal

The other disappointing thing with AA renewals is the cross-sell of services I didnt ask for and dont need. I guess the nostalgic "club" bit of being an AA member is forever gone and replaced by brash target driven telesales. Pity.0

Remember to go through Top Cashback ... usually £20ish back from RAC.Deleted_User wrote: »I've had my AA roadside renewal in and it's £52. It was only £28 when I signed up last year.
Looks like I'll have to go to RAC or Green Flag on their cheap deal.

Seems to be the same with anything like this. They try to cash in on those not bothered to shop around.0

I do find it depressing that companies such as the AA and many insurance companies penalise loyalty, not reward it. I generally then cancel on principle, even if they drop the price when I call. It's not like there aren't loads of providers out there for all this stuff. Can't stand being treated like an idiot on the 'phone either. Classic example in the OP's case - told they could drop the price as he hadn't called them out that year - they should f'in know this and give him the discount on the renewal letter then - not make him call them up on an 0870 number and argue with them! It's bad enough for busy working people, and borderline immoral for pensioners & the like unaccustomed to haggling down the lying gits.
Halifax also wasted a good 30 minutes of my time with similar lies/half information. Result: lost customer of 5 years. My advice is to ditch them and tell them why.My PV system: South West England, 10x 250Wp Trina Solar panels, Fronius Inverter, South facing roof, 35° pitch with no shading.0 -

Indeed, my Mum is still always of the opinion that she'll get a better deal by sticking with the same company for a long time. And nothing I say will sway her from that basic assumption!
She also doesn't understand the concept of mix'n'match 3 for 2 offers either

Just signed up with the AA roadside and recovery for the missus and myself for £52.
How? Use topcashback.co.uk price online was £102 with £50 cashback via topcashback. RAC whom we were with wanted £117 so that's a win in my book. Called the RAC to cancel and they said they couldn't match it so bye RAC.
Remember people use cashback sites as well. Ok you don't get your money for 3 months or so but you can get a lot better deal.
