in Credit cards
Hello
I have a Virgin credit card (MBNA) and have had for several years with a credit limit of £4k. I currently have £2,200 to pay off of it. I got the card when I was in full time employment but no longer work and am classed as a 'Homemaker' now.
My husbands earns a good wage, we both have a great credit rating and he has never had a credit card - just a second named person with a card on my Virgin one.
We would like to transfer the debt to a 0% deal for a fixed period (not sure who with yet). We've assumed we need to apply for a card in hubby's name now as he has the wage but will we be able to transfer the balance from the Virgin card that is in my name to a new account in his name?
Also, as he has never had a credit card before, is he likely to get one with a large enough credit limit that we can transfer my balance of £2,200?
Would appreciate any advice please.

My Fiancee and I have transferred many CC balances between us with no problems, in my cases they have just asked for the card number.
As for applying for a card, there is no harm in trying even if he can't get the full balance he could transfer some of the card across.
The only thing to look out for is it won't work with another MBNA card, 2 I have got recently at 0% and Egg and Asda which might be worth looking into.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017
Quit day job to run 3 businesses 08/02/2017

Thank you. Will have a look at Egg and Asda as options too.0
