I have an access database that I need to open up on an apple mac in Open office, but when I try and open it up, I just get a load of strange charatcters. I don't have any problems in opening up word documents.
Can anyone advise please?

You can't open an Access in MDB in Open Office Base, you have to connect to it, however I don't know whether this works on a Mac.
So on my Windows version, I'd do file new database, choose the "cxonnect to an exisiting Database radio button" and then select Microsoft Access in the drop down box, press next and select the file name of the Access MDB file. This creates a Open Office Base Database that is linked to the MDB.
Be good ot know if this works the same on the Mac0
