What is the provenance of the shoes? If they are bankrupt stock you will have to register with HMRC as a business to sell them and pay tax on the proceeds.

If they are just your own shoes you have never worn, then probably eBay or another auction website, since the other marketplace sites restrict people to items in their catalogue and mainly deal with media.

If you want to get rid of them as a job lot then Gumtree is fine, but bear in mind it's meant to be used as a face-to-face venue, not a traditional online shop.

its just a few pairs of my own unworn shoes, i never thought people would read my post and think that i could be selling stock or was a buisness seller !
  • I have the same problem! I have so many pairs of shoes to sell, but no idea how to get rid of them. If I was back at home in the North I would definitely go to a car boot sale, but I haven't heard of any London.

Does anyone know if they exist?

Never hurts to give out that sort of information, other people with the same issue may be reading this. I had no idea whether the shoes were commercial stock or your own, but I thought I better include it just in case as it will make a difference to how you sell them.

Car boot sale would definitely be a good idea if you don't want to sell on ebay. Ebay would get you the most money though. I always do pretty well on shoes I have bought then subsequently regretted due to crippling feet syndrome!

iheart_freebies Yes I am absolutely sure London has boot sales! I live in Reading but originally from the North and I have never known anywhere not to have a boot sale!

Let me do a quick look ....

here you go. It is from 2008 but I imagine a lot still stand. It will just take a bit more of a google. http://www.timeout.com/london/shopping/features/1786/Top_ten_car_boot_sales_around_London.html

Found a better car boot site for London (clearly too much time on my hands today!)
