strange e on bill

Just recieved my eon statement for my electric pre pay meter and cant make sense of it. Firstly the bill says i am £70 in credit which i am not and when i got to the part about KWh used it says 0 at a charge of £0.00 (confused).

There are a couple of things that immediately come to mind here.

Do you have a two rate Economy 7 meter? If you do, it may be set up as a single rate on your account but as a two rate on the meter.

Usually, where usage is shown as 0 at 0.00, this is the night rate but is shown as zero because this usage has been charged at day rates.

If this is the case, there will be an imbalance between what the meter is taking and what we are charging. This will need correcting.

I believe from a previous post that you have one of the old Token/Card Prepayment Meters.

It may be, the meter is not set to the correct prices. As Helena explained previously, unlike the new Key Meters, prices on your meter cannot be updated remotely. If the wrong prices are on the meter this will, again, show an imbalance.

These are a couple of possibilities but there could be others; difficult to say from the info posted.

The best way forward is to contact us and arrange for your meter to be replaced with the new technology. There's no charge for this.
