Car insurance is based on many factors.

I thought that insurance was cheaper for couples, because it was viewed that couples have a more "stable" lifestyle, only driving to the supermarket and back, or going to work.

Rather than all the singles, who are out til all hours partying and driving their cars home?

so the outcome of this sorry tale is, in my case ..to become a (fake)lesbian

As far as I am aware you are allowed to add named drivers without the need to engage in bedroom activities with them.

Possibly you can take the dungarees back.

  • What 2 litre car is it? Suburu Impreza or Rover 75?!!

    Any points on your licence?

Tried Swiftcover? Cheapest ive seen for a while.
  • Have you got any no claims discount? I paid £400 this year for a 2.0l jap import car with 5 years no claims, I'm 27. If i had the UK car it would have been under £300.

thank you ...i really wish i spent all my time partying :beer:and driving home at 4am.....however the old knees are not what they were and those late nights really take their toll on my girlish good looks...lol

all the 'couples' i know are chasing round at all hours and in a flap running little johnny and jenny to school/scouts/dancing/swimming/disco's/little mates houses etc...surely a more dangerous prospect than a 'pootle' round the asda...lol:A

I hope so, my dad is on my car insurance as a named driver.

For the first time in 22yrs of driving my insurance has gone up this time, but only £20 so can't really complain.

next time try putting a co-habiting partner in as the other driver....i assure you it drops dramatically(tried putting dad and then brother on policy but if you dont tick the 'co-habit/married/common law' button then it doesn't give you anywhere near the reduction that you get if you do add a fictitious partner)

sooo i shall stay a 'fesbian'(thats a faux lesbian!!) till next years renewal ...at least...:beer:

  • I havent been driving anything for a year, yet I have held a full UK license for 6 years now. I am 28.

Try Coverbox. I hear they have an innovative way to help you keep your insurance costs down. If you are not driving that much and don't mind paying by the mile, give them a try. You might be able to save. But I do agree with most of the posts, motor insurance is on the up. Insurers have been losing money way too long and can't seem to get it right with the credit hire and personal injury claims trends in the UK.
