Hard drive tv recorders

I've just purchased a Hitachi Digital Recorder with twin tuners, is there a way of transferring programmes I have on my existing Pioneer tv recorder to it?

    Have they got DVD drives?
If not the answer is no.

    That will depend.

Do you have the instruction manual for it? Does it have any inputs apart from the aerial?

Why can't the OP transfer to hard disk, if the recorder has it?

Problem for me was that most freeview pvr have no inputs either to record from external sources(satellite).
Even if there are outputs sometimes it's a slow process.
PVR's with analogue tuner as well as digital usually have extra connects.

    edit: - Model No. ??

These machines as stated about don't have external input/output ports.
With some of the high end PVRs, Topfield or Humax come to mind its possible to copy to and from the machines.
my suggestion would be if you have any programmes you want to keep copy them to DVD.

People have developed procedures for copying content between Sky + boxes but this involves removing the HD drives from the machines and using a PC.
