We Buy Any Car Online Sites

Has anyone ever had a vehicle bought by one of these companies via their website?

I was going to do this having received a very good offer for my non-runner but got put off by people saying they had heard of problems others have had.

This centres around the offer being made and agreed but when they come to inspect the vehicle, their offer is revised downwards claiming that the description given by the seller was not representative of the vehicle in question.

On their terms and conditions I notice that they have the right to charge £150+VAT if this happens and both parties cannot agree a revised valuation. Seems like an easy way of making £150 if they make a high offer to attract a response but they really only ever intended paying much less.

Am I being paranoid unnecessarily or are these firms generally reputable?

You're not paranoid. There have been a few articles in the consumer and motoring press warning of the fee if you don't agree a sale.

Almost certainly they will say that it is in a lesser condition than they expected & will drop the price. If you stand your ground they may meet you in the middle.

They are there for a purpose & will enable you to sell your car in a quick amount of time.

Personally wouldn't go with them unless I had no other options.
  • Mmmm I think I know the site you are referring to and I would never use them again after being messed around too much. In the end we contacted David at https://www.sellthatcar4cash.co.uk and we got a decent offer (higher than I thought we would) and the money was in the bank within 24 hours which was nice. I think David only deals with damaged/non-runner cars though but might still be worth contacting him? Nice to be treated like a human being which was not the case with the bigger company. Good luck!
