The Great Cheap, Safe Fireworks Hunt
Comments

If i want some decent brand fireworks ,i have to travel to cardiff and back about 80 miles ,or order online ,which i have done in the past.
locally there are 2 year round traders but they both only sell bright star
Just keep an eye out at garden centres and discount stores and hope they sell something decent.0 -
Still waiting to hear from Lidl!
Im thinking of ordering my fireworks from online this year, hoping to spend around £100 and quite a few cakes plus Ive always wanted to try out one of those 'fire cracker/snake' things!
Plus Il probably get some bits from Lidl etc too as they are too hard to resist
Quite tempted by Galactic Fireworks since they only charge £15 for delivery!?
Firecracker snakes are a great addition, I have a couple every year, they suddenly come tearing into life in a great crackling frenzy - light one covertly for best audience effect lol.
Have you had a look at the Galactic Fireworks forum Dan? Don't think I have seen you on there. There's a quiz and fireworks auction every Monday evening with some absolute steals
Still, the Lidl pilgrimmage is a must I agree0 -
just read some news that lidl are changing their range this year, wonder if true.
heres a vid of bright stars craker snake thing.

Where did you read this?
That's the bigger Celebration Cracker - did it measure 14ft!?0 -
may have been longer.
a member on ukfr said he had mail from lidl saying they arnt selling carat etc. i think better to wait for further confirmation though.0 -
Ah, the 25 carat! I wouldn't have given that rumour any credibility but it seems to be 1.3g officially on the approved database, definately a goner then, but possibly there will be more than one replacement - it must have been a big seller, perhaps this was the kick Lidl needed to expand the range. Think positive0
-
Id be happy for them to confirm they are just stocking Weco again than anything! I mean even those selection 'bags' are much better than any other supermarket
I noticed on UKFR that apparently Ipanema is still listed as 1.4g, maybe we will see a return of this along with Fire Fighter and 1 new cake? I hope not as I would prefer something different but as longs as its Weco and not TNT or something im happy
Lidl emailed us back the other day saying they had passed my query on to another dept. for a better response- still waiting!0 -
I was speaking to someone on the UKFR the other day who fires professional shows for firework crazy and apparently they are going to be selling an 80 shot fan cake for £19.99.
There's nothing on there website but there is a video on their youtube.

Does any one know if it's true? If they do it's a real bargain!0 -
Well be good if that's true! But always take these advanced knowledge claims with a massive pinch of salt, see what Lidl themselves come back with first, but lets live in hope!0

I think your right Si7
Shame about the 25 Carat. I wonder if there are any left and any of the 1.3g retailers will pick them up?0
