Having never lit a firework in my life, i need to ask, if i just put these (got some multi shot fireworks from lidle) on the grass and light the fuse, is that correct ? Do i need to put them on a table or something ? Sorry to be such a noob

By multishot do you mean one of the cakes? If so, you could just place them on the surface if it's flat. It's not feasible to stake and tape such small cakes. If you have some soil you could always put it in that for extra assurance.

If you look at the bottom of the Lidl cakes they have flaps on which you can unfold and this should make them steady! If they are on grass or something and feel a bit unsteady a lot of people like to put some sort of stake in and tape them up with gaffa tape.

    Hope that helps :)

i always, always, always place mine on a flat surface (whether its a concrete slab or a wet piece of wood on the grass)
then use 2 or 3 bricks around the firworks to secure on all sides. for thin candles, stack 2 or 3 of the blue builders bricks (the ones with 3 round holes in) on top of each other.

always make sure you secure your fireworks.

*10 minutes preparation before your display is a lot better than a burned family.*
  • HI there, Apologies if this is going over old ground, but havent yet been able to find this direct comparison. Which package do you feel offers the best value for Money? The Armory pack from JTF at £118 (inc VAT) or theMonster Display Kit from Makro at £95.99 (inc VAT). Has anyone had any direct experience with either of them? any comments on quality or number of fireworks? I believe the Makro fireworks are Brother, wheras the JTF Fireworks are Bright Star.

The Monster Display pack from Makro looks brilliant value for money at £99. They are made by Brothers too, 'Skycrafter' is apparently Brothers budget range.

Brothers fireworks are usually top quality and I think a lot of people would rate Brothers a lot highly than JTF.

Its worth noting that the '70' fireworks in the Armory pack includes around 25 sparklers listed as seperate fireworks!! which I thinks a bit cheeky.

Suppose it depends what your after though, Im sure someone else will be able to give you more information.
