are bright star fireworks worth looking at?

Never used Bright Star myself but from what ive seen/ read its quite average. Some pieces are rather good but then some pieces have been reported as rubbish.

If you look back a few pages Si has posted a couple of selection box pics etc the stuff that JTF stock is Bright Star just rebranded.
  • ahh right ok. not sure yet Si, havent been into the shop yet! might pop in tonight and have a look around...

there is also this place near me where i got my haul from last year:

Great pic :D Yes, identical contents to mine except you have argueably better wheels. Comet bomb's a nice touch, unusual to have a mine in a £5 pack, not complaining though eh haha.

    Yep :D

I thought you bought two from your pic or did you just pick the one up?
I was very tempted to get two but thought Il just get the one to see what they are like!

I love how the only firework classed as 25m Display firework is the comet bomb and all the other fireworks are 5m garden fireworks! :)

Yeah Im made up with it for £5! :D Bargain buy!

That description sounds great, looking forward to firing them :D

According to the back of the box it includes 12 fountains, mine includes 15 fountains :D, unless there classing the small box of four as 1?

    I got:
    2x wheels
    15x fountains
3 x roman candles (one long one and two shorter ones)
    1x 'large comet bomb
    2x Rockets

    :D

Im dieing to see what that large comet bomb is like! Also I love those little fountains in the box, had those plenty of times in the past!
Large comet bomb is AWESOME. Brilliant box, fantasic value at £5. Enjoy firing them. :D

(Going to pop into my local asda to see if they have any in stock.)

I feel like going back and picking another box up!

Dont know if anyone knew but apparently ASDA arnt allowed to sell fireworks til after 10am! I got there at 9.20am, saw that they had Pyro Time on display and thought oh good! But they told me to come back in 40 mins as they cant sell them til 10am!
Just a warning incase anyone hopes to in the morning :) May be store specific though

Yes I bought two, one was a keeper but it may have a Comet Bomb size hole cut in the polythene and one missing Comet Bomb now... hahaha!

Wonder who will be first to fire one, Id love to get another one to 'test' in the run up to the 5th :D

I also want to 'test' a rocket to see how quiet they are :rotfl:
  • does anyone know of a supermarket doing packs of roman candles
  • does anyone know where to get any of the TNT kegs?

small ones that ASDA used to sell in twin packs every year until this year.

They were great for the price and cant find any anywhere.:money:

They were great! Had them quite a lot of times however I did noticed that ASDA have stopped selling them this year which is a shame!

Have been looking on the web but cant seem to see anywere else that sells them, maybe they were exclusive to ASDA in there final years?

How about buying the £5 'Pyro Time' selection pack. That includes a mine and the reviews for it sound great. Also for your extra £2 you get a load of fountains, two small rockets, 2 wheels and 3 roman candles :) Take a look at the previous page for pics!

Also, Tricky I have saw most of the supermarket leaflets now and cant say I have saw one lot of roman candles on sale!
If you cant get to an all round seller maybe you could buy a couple of selection boxes and take the Roman Candles out of those?
