Thanks for the link :D. On the back of some of the fireworks I noticed it says spectators must be at least 25 metres away but on the video when those items have been lit, they don't look that bad to have to keep to that distance. What are everyones thoughts on that? I know it's for health and safety reasons etc but does everyone keep that distance when using fireworks especially the big barrage packs?

Fountains are ok to be 5 metres back.If you think then with a barrage or candle ,the shots can easily go at least 20 metres up,imagine if the candle fell over or to a cake, whatever the distance those shots reach,if you are within that reach you could be at risk. this happened last night,my mate lit a candle ,a few shots went up ok ,then candle fell over, 1 shot went straight for him. i have it on video, ill prob put it up on my next vid.

I suppose the Cyber Pack fountains may be ok at 5m, but be careful as I know that some of the fountains in that pack reach quite a height so you may want to be further away as these can also easily fall over.

Also in the cyber Box are a few roman candles and 2 'multi shot' roman candles with something like 80shots in, if these fall over they could easily get you.

One thing ive never really understood is how a lot of rockets manage to be 5m garden fireworks. If one of those fell over they could shoot right into you.The only reason I can really think of as to why they allow them to be 5m fireworks is because its just the one shot and the burst isnt 5m wide?

Aldi stuff doesn't look too bad, I don't think this years £4.99 Firefight pack is as good value as last years £4.99 Thrilling but Mystic looks like it might be OK. And who's going to be the guinea pig on the Jet Blast rocket pack then :D

Problem all these supermarkets have is that Lidl's Weco gear is such high quality stuff (relatively) and still cheap, looking at the specs of individual Weco fountains they have 2 to 3x the powder load of Brightstar, Guy Fawkes etc. 3 x Cyber Pack for £20 is a no brainer for tooling around in the garden

Example of Weco quality versus the rest :

Two generic cones, 1 x Guy Fawkes Olympic Blue & 1 x Weco Giant Super Volcano :

They look pretty much the same but the Guy Fawkes piece contains 8g of the sparkly stuff we like & the Weco nearly 36g!

With roman candles/roman candle batteries/roman candle cakes, it is of utmost importance to secure these firmly upright so they cannot tip over while firing, on the other hand small fountains are pants at 25m as are small rockets/wheels and mines.

Why should ALL small and medium calibre rockets be 25m? All you do is angle them away from the house nearby trees buildings and obstructions in their launcher before you fire and if there is a breeze or a fair wind blowing then angle your tube accordingly and rearrange your display so all people stand with backs to the prevailing winds. Just common sense (not OTT precautions) is needed in this case.
  • i am thinking of takeing out one 25 carat and 2 of the other cakes from lidl and get a pack of 4 pre loaded mines in mortas by firework internasional but not sure if only i had more money lol

Hi mate, tbh i wouldn't get pre loaded mortars as there only really worth it on a big budget i would personaly get...

Either the chinese barrage pack 1
    http://www.fireworksinternational.co.uk/fireworks-barrage-packs.html

    Rocket Pack one
    http://www.fireworksinternational.co.uk/fireworks-rocket-packs.html

Candle pack one also looks good if you can stretch it a little
    http://www.fireworksinternational.co.uk/fireworks-candle-packs.html

I can also tell you that the Noise pack one is Great value for money
    http://www.fireworksinternational.co.uk/fireworks-noise-packs.html

Just some ideas i would think are better suited to your budget.

Say if you bought the barrage pack you could have 8 really nice cakes and i would get say 2 24 carates and 1 impanema then light the 2 24 carates to end your display could be really good for your budget.

Anyway just what i would do but go with what you like best
