Yeah it is completly fine to use fireworks from last year as long as they havnt been damaged in any way etc.

I had some stuff this year that was made back in 2005 and 2006. Shops are still allowed to sell the old reg stuff (laws came into place to stop the making of fireworks with certain powders in them). There is no law (exept having to have the british standard code on them) that states you cannot set fireworks off from years ago that I am aware of.

Hope you have a great display, you will be fine firing those fireworks!

Also, good to hear that your going down too lidl the 25 carats are highly recomended and the other cake that you mentioned is Fire Fighter which is priced at £9.99.

    Hope that helps :)

There is a big fireworks shop opened just by me for a few weeks, it is selling Nightstar fireworks. Does anyone know anything about these??

Yeah I use a few Night Star pieces each year as my local seasonal shop always sells them (and only them). Some of their stuff is pretty good and usually reasonably priced (often sold at about half the quoted r.r.p.). Their 'Barrage Blast' pack is worth getting if you can get it for around the £15 mark (contains 12 small to medium cakes, some of which are surprisingly impressive for their size). They also do two decent large fountains called Golden Shower and Silver Rain, which are similar to Kimbolton's Mammoth Cone.

This year I'm trying their 'Mexican Firecracker', which is supposed to be very good, but I cannot comment as I haven't fired it yet.

I saw the Mexican one it looked pretty impressive without even being on fire lol! My son saw the giant dynamite stick firework that looks like a giant bullet and begged me to get it (I think he likes it cos it's shiny lol) but it was £9.99 for 1 and not sure what it does?!?
Thanks to everyone for their comments , really helpful, can't wait for our party on the 6th!!!:T

i have done night star i nusualy buy quite a few of their products every year and their quite good for their price i also agree barrage blast pack is great quality and is nice and loud not exeptional but very good for their price
the cyber boxes will 100% be fine in a 5m garden when we said 10m that was with bigger stuff like ipanema, 24 carate not cyber boxes

now about using older fireworks its totaly fine i last year found a nice 325 shot candle hidden behind some stuff in the house it was 5 years old and it was completely un fused and would of needed fully re fusing so i made some fuse with my special mix of fauntain powder mixed with water then the string is dipped in and left to dry and i re fused it and it worked brilleantly (but i am a pure firework nut and i make my own fireworks) any one else make their own??? :rotfl::rotfl:

non of yous picked up any heavy duty stuff like brothers choice?

and about the black powder it isnt a problem but i would give it a bit of hot glue but are you shore its BP as it could be some of the rocket fule thats come loose or it could be some flash if its flash be extra careful if the powders in the fuse cap its almost certanly some of the rocket fule
:) The Firework Shop List Firework Forum :)
  • i said black powder as that is the couler of it lol havent got a clue to what it is i am going to empty the cap and see if i can see where it is coming from and see if any more leaks
