so il yous the fire pack from lidl as a example you get mostly small cakes so would you light one of those little tiny 7 shot cakes like big bertha and stand 25m away the affects wouldnt be as good as the cakes are tiny

Il be honest, I usually stand closer than it recommends to some of my fireworks but, I like to have the correct amount of room just incase its needed, eg its a very big/ powerful firework and the bits are raining down on you. I dont think I would feel safe letting off a 25 carat cake in a 5m garden unless I was watching from indoors or something, as at about 10/15m we had bits coming down on our heads so had to back off a bit!

    Hey,

Just to inform you, Ive just got back from the lidl with 2 more 25 carats to add to my collection :)

Different service every time Ive been the lidl, first time manager came over asked what we wanted and he went off for about 10 mins and came back with them and took them to another till. Second time manager got the fireworks very quickly and we were served on the same queue. This time we had a bit more shopping so waited in the queue, asked for fireworks and the manager went to get them while the woman on the till just waited (with a very large queue behind!-only til open!). So we had to stand there for 10 mins in the queue while he brought over the fireworks, lucky there were no narks in the queue haha!

Glad that they had some left anyway :)

Ah-HAA! 2 more 25 Carats :D Nice one, glad they weren't out! Each time I've gone I've queued up empty handed, (funny looks) asked for fireworks when I reached the till, the assistant produces a card, I choose from the card and she uses that barcode/no. to enter into the till. I then pay and get ushered to the packing area where I wait like a lost soul for my fireworks to arrive lol.

On the safety distance debate, yes, I do stand perhaps a little closer than recommended, certainly for the Weco small tube fountains that state 25M, but sometimes I'll stand further, Kimbolton Glittering Gemstones for instance is quiet fierce! There's a good degree of common sense needed but I absolutely can't recommend flouting the guidelines, just to be clear.

Nope I wouldnt recomend ignoring the rules on the firework, its best to be safe than sorry. I definitely wouldn't set 25m display fireworks off in a place where only around 5 metres is available just in case of emergency. But that said, if I have the room available (25m) and I light a small firework that states 25m, then I may go a little closer than the recommended guidance but if it starts to get bigger/ more powerful I would have room to back off from it :)

Cant wait for bonfire night now! :)

Thanks for the pic :) , quality is fine!

Is there any chance you could take a pic of the contents of the boxes from tesco? They look like OK quality boxes for the price, how much were they again?
