Impressed with that last pic, looks great through the arch!

If anyone has a big selection of fireworks I would highly recommend waterproofing (cling film and bag over top) and staking everything in the day. I used a roll of gaffa tape and a few pieces of wood hammered into ground. This way every things ready for you to light without the gaps of putting fireworks out. Also safer too ;)
  • you have some great pics there mate! :)

    small update,

i got the urge to splurge again at the weekend so i had to go out and get my fix. Of buying more fireworks of course!

first off i went to lidls and got 2 ipanemas and 2 25 carat golds. theyre smaller than i thought, but the vids do look impressive so i cant wait to set them off :)

next i went to tescos and bought the shot tubes they do, £25 bogof. i had them last year and they were really good (i put a review up about them last year) i think they were called mercury rising last year, this year theyre called crystal shot. look to be exactly the same though :)

lastly i went to a different garden centre and bought some stuff made by cosmic. i got the venus selection box @ £19.99 as it came with a free 6 pack of golden eagle rockets which were priced at £24.99 they had some other good fireworks, but were quite expensive.

    time for some pics!

cant wait to let this 'little' lot off! :D

It's almost impossible to fight that urge.. :D I'm REALLY trying to convince myself that I don't need 6 more Glittering Gemstones, they are such good value though! (always an excuse ;))

Excellent stash there Windmill, have you worked out a firing order?

Dan, really excellent pics, ramps up the pre bonfire night excitement seeing those! :rotfl:
  • hahaha yeah i know tell me about it! im glad there isnt one of those garden centres near me that you keep going to, otherwise i'd be in there everyday buying more stuff!

I dont have an exact firing sequence lined up yet, but i expect ill be letting off the cheap selection box first, then the lidls cakes, then the main stash, all interspursed with rockets! and ill be firing them in size order, cos we all know size matters! :D

Well I did just drop past the garden centre, virtually everything is gone, there were a few Jumping Jelly Beans, couple of cakes and that was it - no Glittering Gemstones left  :D

Still, "seeing as I was there" *cough* it would be a wasted trip to leave empty handed.. so picked up four big rockets :rotfl:

  • hahaha! more items for your stash! i bet its you that has bought all their stock which is why there isnt anything left! :p

Haha yeah I agree with Windmill!

We need a complete stash pic lol!

Change of plan now will be going tomorrow to Lidl. I just hope that they have both of the cakes left in stock. If not I will get another fire fighter cake or a small box :)

Hmmm I was just thinking, I wonder if bonfire night is going to be loud and busy (lots of people setting off fireworks) this year. The reason I was wondering is because this year there seems to be more and more shops selling pyro than ever before! Eg we have the Argos, b&q (1st time last year) and also there is quite a lot of seasonal shops that have appeared round here this year. One has opened up at the end of my road, haven't bothered to go in though as I just know by the signs that its going to be dancing red devil or Bulldog fireworks!

I just hope that this year it will liven up again to what it used to be like a few years ago as I really thought that it was quiet last year.
